Hi, Another month has passed since our last newsletter and lot's of exciting things have happened since then. In this newsletter you will read all about IoT SIM cards for everyone, Embedded World 2024, our Zephyr adventures and more. Soracom SIM cards now available for anyoneIn the 2G (EDGE/GPRS/SMS) era one could use the same SIM card for IoT devices and phones. With NB-IoT and LTE-M this is no longer the case. Our team has received numerous inquiries about acquiring IoT SIM cards, and we're pleased to announce that we now offer a solution for that! ![]() Together with our friends from Soracom we have been working hard on making connectivity available for anyone. Through our web shop you can now buy SIM cards in single quantity both as a private individual as well as a company. We are excited about opening up the market and it fits perfectly in our mission to make cellular available for prototyping and low- to medium volume products. You can read all about Walter + Soracom in their latest IoT blog. Is Zephyr support coming?Yes you saw that correctly in the intro, our team is working hard on adding Walter to the Zephyr RTOS. On Embedded World 2024 we talked with Benjamin Cabé and learned all about the Modem Subsystem which is a relatively new component in Zephyr. As there is no support for Sequans modems yet we will add this to the project and make a pull request soon. ![]() Embedded World 2024 was a successOur team, together with the Soracom team, was present in the M2M area of the Embedded World 2024 trade fair. We had the chance to catch up with a lot of Walter beta testers and were able to present Walter to the embedded community. It's great to hear about all the use-cases for which Walter will be used, from water management, road side sensors up to cellular 2 factor authentication tokens, the possibilities are endless. ![]() The IoT show with Olivier BlochDaan Pape from the Walter team was asked for an episode of the IoT Show from Olivier Bloch from OB Tech consuling. Olivier has extensive knowledge on IoT and lots of industry experience. In the IoT show episode we breakdown the position of cellular IoT amongst other LPWAN technologies and we zoom in on Walter and Walter feels. Make sure to his youtube channel to sit on the first row.
